What educators say about PAES

Voices from the lab, the planning meeting, and the parent conversation. Here is what teachers and transition teams tell us after they watch their students get to work.

"PAES gave us a language for what our young adults can do, not a list of what they cannot. That changed the conversation with employers, with parents, and with the young people themselves."

"We are thrilled with the new changes and believe that they greatly strengthen the core of PAES, which is to provide student data-driven results that will enhance our ability to plan for the future of our students."

"Students we thought we understood started showing us things we had not seen. Once they engaged with PAES, everything shifted."

"The most data-driven assessment of student work potential, strengths and needs currently available for IEP development and transition planning."

"I would say PAES lab jobs are a good way to prepare students for jobs. In my World of Work class, we have them do a mix of things during their class time, including PAES lab jobs. This mix gives them a great variety of vocational experiences and practice. This year I had two seniors move from the World of Work class to an internship at a job at the semester, and part of that was all the skills they had learned. Overall, I am thankful that some of the PAES jobs are in areas I am not personally an expert in and could not provide them experiences in otherwise."
